Do We Want McCain With His Finger on the Nuclear Arsenal Trigger?

January 29th, 2008 Posted in 2008, Arrogant, John McCain, Mitt Romney, The Boston Herald

Flag Waving

A Hat Tip to MittReport for the above title and for this article from the Boston Herald:

Temper Tantrum Johnny

We see what he is like as a crotchety old man — I wonder what John McCain was like at four years old. I can just picture him flayling on the floor screaming when he did not get what he wanted. Or slamming closed his Risk board game when he was losing.

Vic, this is very prescient of you to raise this question. I was just thinking of it myself. Not just in regard to the fact of McCain’s eruptive temper and “loose cannon” manners, but in terms of his excessive military hawkishness. There’s a video on this blog where he blathers on saying there’ll be more war, and more war, and more war…and so on. Here is where his ’supposedly mliitary strength can be used against him.

And why not remind people that, as some have noted, what he really was suggesting in his perverse and disingenous discussion of ‘timetables’, which Mitt rightly brought up immediatley in conjuncution with ‘milestones’ as an essential aspect of any coherent “plan” [Remember it is only weasel who would attempt to launch an attack on a word, "timetable', which can be and should be a "timetable for anything', Just as a "milestone' could be a milestone for anything ...not just withdrawal. Someone on the radio, Laura Ingraham, I believe, observe that the guy was so wound up tight he couldn't even listen to what was being said, and what if her 'erupted" [again great word to tie in with him over a couple of weeks] what might happen if he jump at the first sense of partial phrase with leaders or enemies around the wordl

The truth is that a Goldwater type ad featuring him blathering on about there’ll be more and more and more war, will be precisely letting himself propel himself way past the past of national security steadfastness….that video of him saying “more war, more war, and practically drooling, will do him in.

I know you guys are just such a bunch of ’sweethearts that you wouldn’t do it, but I can assure if this weasel ever gets the nomination, that’s presicely what the Dems will do to destroy him in a week. He’ll seem the wild, raging hawk in whose hands we cant’ trust our future ina complex world. His temper. His lack of judgment. His preoccupation with war and killing…not as a necessity, but as much more. The Manchurian Candidate, perhaps.
But anyway, a reincarnation of that classic Goldwater ad. He’ll make Hillary look like Mahatma Gandhi in comparison to himself. So why not get getting on the groundwork….remember those words, ‘loose cannon” ‘confused, confused” “erutpion”, ‘quick tempered” …just subtle repetition of these words as a mantra will cut him down to size and prepare him for the classic “Ad…a la Goldwater…..just before some key date.

This would entail regularly using the terms “loose cannon” and “confused” in every release and statement about him.

    Vic,

Do you really think that John McCain would Nuke Mitt?

You guys must really be in build -a-resume mode over at Casa Mittles!

McCain is the only one the candidates who ever dropped ordinance - he knows what to do. No EAST buttons in the cockpit of a fighter.

Pat Hickey, I like the humor!

Humor aside though, and just speaking for myself, I do think there is a much higher risk of hair-trigger impulsiveness with McCain, certainly. If he can’t just blow up on associates around him, presumably people he admires (friends), what happens when he loses his temper with people he doesn’t like? — His perceived enemies?

Frankly, the thought of that is too scary to contemplate.

    Vic,

I have yet to meet an unpleasant Romney Supporter. Lovely folks one and all. Read Anne Leary’s Site here in Illinois: Ann is 1st Rate Thinker and a lovely writer - opens Old Style bottles with her teeth but that is a fine quality in a beautiful woman.

As To Senator McCain’s anger - right out of the Gospels; ‘Whip them Coin Changers Jesus!’ We Chicagoans have much more tolerance to an occasional bolt of righteous and blue.

    President McCain? He’ll be Great!

    Pat Hickey,
That was Jesus’ righteous anger with out the f and the a…ole words. No, it’s not a good picture to imagine him the president of the US.

    Vic,

I stand corrected on my previous post comment - Lomi seems a rather unpleasant biped.
