Lame McCain
Looks like McCain’s McCain/Feingold reform has come in handy for him. The Maverick Conservative has a great post on McCain’s attacks over the weekend.
As Andrew McCarthy pointed out, look how McCain is taking advantage of his attack on the Frist Amendment here (McCain/Feingold). McCain’s “reforem” prevents organizations from pointing out LIES of a candidate (or organization supporting a candidate) within 30 days of a primary. That means that NO GROUP could point out McCain’s LIE about Romney in Florida. Now ROMNEY himself can talk about it. But otherwise you have to rely on the MEDIA (that is why McCain/Feingold was really a MEDIA POWER GRAB, as well as being an attack on the First Amendment)…
I can assure you: McCain is full of it: a suck up to the media rather than a true “straight talker”. He got the REPUTATION for straight talk by SUCKING UP TO THE MEDIA. He has always said what he thinks will endear him to the press atany particular time–whether it is consistent with what he said yesterday or not. McCain has NEVER been intellectually consistent, or interested in FACTS. It is no accident that the McCain/Kennedy immigration (amnesty) bill is all about DECEPTION (see the more than fifty entires in this blog under the general heading of “illegal immigration deception”).
Here’s what Andrew McCarthy had to say:
I’m starting to think Sen. McCain should not be allowed to mention the other candidates’ names within 30 days before a primary. I mean, he levels an allegation about Romney that’s just flat not true, and if some organization wanted to run an add calling him on it, they would be in violation of his “reform” of campaign finance regulations. What a racket!
Also, I believe there may be some Latter-Day Saint readers of this blog. Mitt made a statement today on yesterday’s passing of the President of the Mormon Church.
“I was saddened to learn of the death of Gordon B. Hinckley. Ann and I respect him as a man of great faith and character. Like all people who knew him, we were deeply touched by his humility, his sense of humor and by the way he inspired so many people around the world. We will miss his leadership.”
Here is a more in-depth article on Mitt’s reaction.
Any predictions on the outcome of tomorrow’s Primary?

It seems that Mac is taking “Fairy Tale” advice from Bill Clinton to attack on Mitt.

I’m so nervous for tomorrow I can barely stand it! I believe Mitt can overcome the media and the liberal McNasty. I just hope the voters in FL have seen the light! When the media, democratic strategists, and every liberal under the sun say they want McCain to be the nominee, don’t you think that’s an indication to a voter NOT to vote for McCain??? You should run the other way…to Mitt, who the MSM attacks, because he’s the BEST and they damn well know it!
Go Mitt…I’m praying for you, praying for my children’s future, praying for the salvation of our party, of our nation. This is it folks, do what you can!!!!

There is more news in the death of Gordon Hinckley for Florida. Its that Mitt Romney has *left* Florida to attend the funeral of Gordon Hinckley. Thats is big news if only that he’s not able to make appearances in Florida.
So if we half to talk about Gordon briefly, it may turn Romney’s “negative” (his religion) into a positive, if we perhaps mention Gordon’s efforts to promote good will that has strengthened his community and our nation. The United States honored Gordon B. Hinckley for his devoted service with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award from President Bush
http://www.corecharacter.com/uploads/GordonHinckley_GeorgeBush-thumb.jpg
The official written citation with the award said, “As the president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and throughout his nearly 70 years in church leadership, Gordon B. Hinckley has inspired millions and has led efforts to improve humanitarian aid, disaster relief and education funding across the globe.”
This wise and patriotic man earned his country’s highest civil honor. We should all be pleased that Romney has taken time out of his busy schedule to honor him by attending his funeral. That he has respect and honor for the dead and view it more important than politics campaigning in Florida. Be mindful he has had personal interaction with him (Salt Lake City Winter Olympics being one in particular).

Wow. Read this article from Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies. It seems that McCain’s new “Hispanic outreach adviser” is even more radical than we thought. He worked for an organization that held a “Design the Border Fence” contest; the winner was the one who compared it to the Berlin Wall.
So much for McCain’s concern about border security. Read both pages:
“Mexico First? McCain has embraced a Vicente Fox’s aide as His own.”

AND, check this out. There’s ANOTHER open-border type working for McCain.
This time, it’s an “anti-English language” type:
“McCain’s campaign boasts another open borders zealot”

I am very nervous about tomorrow. I just don’t think people are willing to get informed and they take there cues from the media and endorsers. Hopefully this will go well for Romney but I think it will be a nail biter.

Ray. No news on when Pres. Hinckley’s funeral is. It won’t happen until after the FL primary.

McCain really pissing me off today with his new accusations about Mitt and his Massachusetts record. As a resident, I know the facts and McLier is wrong. I hope there is time to get rebuttals out there for FL residents. I have not seen the MSM call him on his latest attacks and disprove them. There is no honor left in McCain….against the wall his true character once again is revealed.

Joe IN MA I have been reading a lot about Mitts record not being as good as he claims. Is it just the left distorting the facts? Do republicans like the job he did in Mass? Will Mitt be able to win Mass. or will Mass. go Dem? I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter as it is hard to sift through the garbage to get to the truth. Thanks.

All candidates have political enemies and Mitt Romney has more than his share in Massachusetts that condemn his record as governor. Since it is a liberal state, I’m sure it isn’t hard to find criticisms, but isn’t the real test the Massachusetts poll that shows him leading by 50%. I would think that is a great testament to his successes. I would like to see more refutation of the “flip-flopper” label that seems to have adhered to him. The man has been consistent his entire life to a set of principles of conscience and a moral compass that has kept him true to his parents, his wife, his religion, and his personal conduct. In the end, that is what makes him the candidate you can trust. I am anxious to see if the American people and particularly the people of Florida are still interested in integrity. I hope so.

Thank you Kathleen West. Up by 50% that says a lot. I am frustrated by the flip flopper label and I wish he could do more to refute that but maybe more said would cause more problems. This has to be the most tiring process to go through. If he can rise above all of these obstacles he will be a great President.
I hope people of Florida will feel that they can trust Mitt and know that he would fight for us in Washington.
