Rebecca...Thanks for the tip. I'm heading to www.unitethegop.com
right now. Mitt has to be persuaded to "un-suspend" his presidential
bid. I am from MI and winter in FL. Here in FL the lies and nastiness JB
threw at Mitt was unbelievable. I lost all respect for him.
If Mitt doesn't get back in I will have to look at the Libertarian Party once
again. I will not be a factor in turning the GOP back to the fat cat blue blood
country club RINO's!

Dottie:

The procedure is this. Have the NYT continue to hammer JM with its influence peddling and affair allegations to the point that he's not a viable candidate by convention time. If the NYT can find some actual proof of their allegations that would break this thing wide open again.

The delegates then have to rethink about which former candidate has the necessary skill set: brainpower, communication ability, war chest, policy positions, lack of skeletons, actual conservative record--not rhetoric, etc. And broadest appeal, like maybe placing a close second in any state he didn't win. No one but Romney makes any sense. But since when did that matter?

Ann, you need to start a blog about how to change this horrific primary system. I'll throw out some thoughts, but there are plenty of smart people on these blogs that can improve my thoughts significantly.

1) The order of the primary states in re-chosen every 4 years by random lottery one year in advance of the actual election. This will keep anomalous states from an inordinate influence of nominees. It will also prevent primary leapfrogging and compression.

2) The primaries go two weeks apart in waves of 5 states every two weeks. This might mitigate the "momentum" factor.

3) No "open" primaries. Your party gets to decide your parties’ candidate. Republicans can only vote in the republican primary, independents in the independent primary only, and democrats the same, green the same, etc. That will prohibit the other parties from gaming the system with crossover voting. If your party does not have a legitimate candidate, then maybe you need to think very hard about why that is.

4) Party voter registration is finalized 3 months in advance. No voting day registration nonsense to also game the system.

5) Delegates are divided up by the same formula in each state. Something like the Founding Fathers’ legislative concepts of a Senate and a House or Representatives. So maybe 50% (or so) of each states delegates are "winner take all," and the remainder are strictly proportional to the actual vote.

6) Caucusing is out. This is voting by the people. Working people voting at polls, without the caucus day shenanigans (think WV).

Thoughts? Something has to be done, because what we currently have is….”broken.”

I have but one request of Mitt. Please, for the sake of our Country and its future, reconsider your run for the presidency of our USA. We need you. You are the best chance we have for a prosperous and safe future.
I sure wished you would have sent out a call for support from the rest of us, who have not had the chance to vote for you yet, with financial or any other means of support prior to announcing your decision to drop out of the race. You would have found out just how much support you have out there. Be it Republican, Democrat or Independent. You, my man, have a lot of support that you do not know about.
Who do we vote for now? Please do not give up on us as we will not give up on you. I would love to cast my vote for you in the primary, and general as the Republican Nominee. Get back in there and fight for us and we will fight for you.

This means that this person in MA is obviously not a Mitt supporter. A long time ago I purchased a bunch of Romney domains to guard against this type of thing. It's very easy for someone hostile to the Romney campaign with enough forethought to get a positive Romney domain name (i.e. his name or any name of his with a for after it) and make either a)make it hostile to Romney or b)forward it to an opponent. So, that's precisely what was done here Murphy. This guy doesn't like Romney, so he's forwarding his domain name to Huck''s site.

Sorry for such a long explanation!

I'm saddened Mitt suspended his race. I get frustrated he hasn't received recognition for even finiishing 2nd (silver) on super Tuesday, despite the fact, he was a virtual unknown until a few months ago. Not bad for a rookie with no name recognition and Washington outsider. Hey Rudy, John McNasty....you should be alittle embarrased.

It's so apparent Huckapoo played on the fears of his conservative base and stayed in the race to defeat Mitt's chances. The back-door delegate deal in West Virginia is not even discussed and should be given the fact these two crooked candidates are still in the race.

Huckapoo hides behind he's flawed record. He has the most liberal parole record. I doubt the families of the victims voted for him. He still remains in the race and doesn't stand a chance. Quite frankly, I question his judgement. He has denial issues....do the math. He thrives on the attention. He needs a captive audiance to play his pseudo rock star guitar talent? Perhaps it's his campaign handlers not wanting to lose their jobs?

I hear Britney Spears is looking for a spiratural leader, he should go for it. He's crafty at convincing the weak minded.

Mitt, you ran a great campaign. Ronald Reagon lost to the peanut farmer in 1976...the rest is history.

Ok, can someone please tell me why www.mittromney.org forwards to Huckabees site? Has Huckabee really stooped so low? Be sure to let all of your friends know that this is how much of a deceiving slut Mike Huckabee is. How very sad. Mike Huckabee, is a sad little man... keyword: little.

Mitt was giving McCain a great run for his money, and many are sad to see him go. But don't despair! A true conservative still remains in the race!

Watch Ron Paul's address at Liberty University yesterday:

We can't let McCain win unopposed! Keep up the fight!

I lived in MA when Governor Romney prevailed. He was terrific. He always battled the liberal leglislature..and he learned how to work with them. He held steadfast to his principles and was guided by a his morals; but he did not wear his church on his sleeve.
He served without accepting a salar for 4 years - how many others do this. You know most of the Senators are extremely wealthy and they take their salary. What gives?

Now, I must fear that McCain will open the gates to Mexico and build a high way to and from ...perhaps he should be the next president of Mexico and name W as his VP! Oh we have so much to look forward too.....

All: It is unfortunate that we must support someone who understands and can participate in the corruption that plagues Washington. I disagree that this process and the qualify of corruption makes america great. I believe it is the little people who work hard and strive to make this place a better place for their children. The media did not understand Romney. The other candidates did not understand Romney. Romney would have changed things. That must be frightening to them. The process is understandably corrupt. I cannot participate in a corrupt process. I will not reward liars. The republicans are going to lose and I believe that would be a great lesson for them to learn. I did not reward my children by encouraging additional lying. I bet they learn really fast. Think about Huckleberry as President. Doesnt that terrify you? Christal

I was not inclined to vote Romney until his announcement today that his campaign is being suspended. For the first time he made substantive statements about what our biggest problem is and did so not worried about who or what special interests would be offended. Till then he, and all the others, have consistantly insulted the intelligence of Americans byanswering no question will a true, complete answer. Rather they parrot their memorized pap and blather as if we don't notice their smarmy evasion of the truth. The lesson here for Mitt is: If you're not offending somebody then you're not doing it right. Its true that culture dictates the success or failure of nations. Our culture, currently, does not bode well.

Although he ran a great race, and he has great business experience. But we need someone that understands the BS that Washington seems to thrive on. We need someone that realizes that the people of this country are what makes this country great.
It's not the bureaucrat's in DC the same folks that are spending your children's children's future into oblivion. Gov Romney may have promised to stop the spending, but in reality it wouldn't happen. McCain lies through his teeth and is interested in one thing only, and that's McCain. Both parties have overspent their campaign budgets, and that to me is a bad sign to send the people. Romney's I understand was mostly his own money. The point is though, they spent into the red. So anything said about balancing the budget was voided by their actions.
If Gov Romney wants to stick it to McCain he should support Ron Paul or Huckabee.
It's time to break the tax and spend RepliDemocrats strangle hold on this country.
Maybe Dr Paul is different, but different is something this country needs right now.

Lynda, you have a 2/6 mindset but you're watching an old video. Remember, the political scene is changing daily. Everyone in the media has been telling us it was a 2-person race. After all, Huck hadn't won since Iowa and that was forever ago! Don't get discourage. Mitt will win!!!

Donna, I feel your pain. I'm in Texas and we HAVE to do something about the illegals. City by city they're trying, but it's tough. And when OK and NM passed tougher laws on illegals, they all migrate to Texas. 15,000 have come from OK in the last few months. Mitt has to win. Somehow we have to get him on the ballot!

Mitt is the best and others get angry at him.
Evangicals are bigots with regard to Mitt. It is so low.
Latinos dont realire that border security and a closed border for those that are legally here - protects them too.
Where is common sense?
Obama, Billary, and McCain. No choice in that 3 for me. Mitt here I write you in.
2012 anyone?

Lynda..this is my take on this.
I think the press spins anything that Romney says and makes him out to be a nasty person, an argumentative person, with his requests that Huck leave the race...and now the spin on Tucker is that there was no collusion between the McNasty people and the Huckfin people in W Va. Give me a break. It was purposeful. It was wrong.

When will the press reveal the real John McCain.

I am writing in Mitt!

Social_Conservative...thanks for the detailed message! I dont know why Mitt hasnt signed this pledge. Perhaps he's getting into trouble for his anti-Amnesty stance, but I think its appealing and timely and crucial. I will send the contract up to the Mitt campaign or at least discuss it.

I cannot believe that Huckster signed it, did he? rumor has he might have, but look at this article:"Pinnnocchio for Huckabee on Illeglas: innthe Washington Post by Michael Dobbs, a fact checker Dec. 18 2007

Rudy and sanctuary cities - that was when I tossed him out for any consideration.

There is no one better than Mitt. No one can come close.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being issued by the Democratic National Committee:
Trying to cement his place as the Bush establishment candidate, John McCain turned his back on his principles with a do-anything-to-win strategy that includes ignoring his past rhetoric on pork projects and the influence of lobbyists to benefit his presidential campaign. An independent review conducted by the advocacy group Public Citizen and released earlier this week "found that McCain has more bundlers -- people who gather checks from their networks of friends and associates -- than any other presidential candidate from either party." The review noted that "McCain has at least 58 federal lobbyists raising money for his campaign." [washingtonpost.com, 01/29/08]

George Soros and Teddy Kennedy will be telling you when to jump and how high. Think you are taxed now?. You just wait. Look at who is behind McCain? Liberals, smiling from ear to ear. I get Mexicans wanting to mow my yard for $10.00. I pay $60.00 per month. They live ten to a room. PLEASE I BEG YOU. SUPPORT AND SEND MONEY TO ROMNEY, WE MUST HAVE HIM IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
We are here in Iowa digging out again. SNow Snow Snow. I firmly believe our weather has deteriorated ever since we voted for Huckleberry. And now the southern states have been hit with tornadoes in February. The states that voted for Huckleberry. Huckleberry will you just stop lying before you kill us all. If I hear McCain say he is rubbing his lucky penny one more time I think I am going to get sick. They are both liars and liberals. Global warming is hell freezing over. I was saying I will not vote for McCain until hell freezes over. And now it is happening. The only place not hit is Utah. Christal

lynda..... because you're only hearing portions of conversations ect. that the media put out. Those are sound bites not the whole thing. Look at his record that is what matters!! Romney is an honest, decent human being. Personally I don't trust those other politicans out there who say whatever sounds good. We need to look at the REAL issues, if you notice the other politicans running never give sound solutions (especially on economics). I wish you the best in your decision making process!

I thought Romney was honest. Why is he making voters think Paul and Huckabee have dropped out of the race?

This makes me so disillusioned.

Republican dog, here's the press release and questionnaire. I suppose I don't know that Gov Romney has NOT filled it out, but if he has and hasn't released it prior to Super Tuesday, he doesn't understand how strongly people (in both parties) oppose amnesty. I saw that Huckabee (who needs to drop out of the race, for Pete's sake) released his answers, and he signed the NumbersUSA pledge a month or more ago.

---
U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions sent this to presidential campaigns Wednesday leading into a speech on Thursday in Washington. Sessions says he will collect the answers and distribute them.

Real Immigration Reform

A Roadmap for Demonstrating Presidential Credibility on One of America's Most Important Issues

I. SECURE THE BORDER

Border Fence and National Guard: If elected President, will you secure the border, including completing construction of the 700 mile southern border fence required by the Secure Fence Act, constructing more miles if needed, and keeping the National Guard on the border until it is secured?

□Yes or □ No

Border Prosecutions: If elected President, will you deter illegal entry by expanding the already successful Zero Tolerance Prosecution Policy (Operation Streamline) from 3 to all 20 border sectors, and support statutory mandatory minimums for the crimes of illegal entry, reentry, and reentry after deportation for any felony?

□Yes or □ No

Control Visa Overstays: If elected President, will you give our immigration system integrity by completing the 10-year past due exit portion of The USVISIT (Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology) system and eliminate other weaknesses in the system so that future visa overstays can be identified?

□Yes or □ No

II. END THE MAGNET AT THE WORKPLACE

Enforceable Employer Verification System: If elected President, will you end the jobs magnet by requiring all employers to use the electronic verification system to check the legal status of all employees, reduce fraud by decreasing the number of documents employers must accept to prove legal status, and will you offer cooperating employers a safe harbor?

□Yes or □ No

Biometric ID Card For All Non-Citizens: If elected President, will you require a biometric (fingerprint encoded) identification card for all aliens authorized to work?

□Yes or □ No

Eliminate Identity Theft: If elected President, will you increase security for legal workers by requiring social security earnings statements to list all employers reporting wages under an individual's social security number so that fraudulent use of that number can be spotted?

□Yes or □ No

III. STATE AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT

Form Effective Partnerships: If elected President, will you form effective immigration enforcement partnerships with state and local law enforcement by clarifying their authority to enforce federal immigration laws, deputizing state and local officers in every state (through the 287(g) program), offering a basic training course for all state and local officers, and compensating state and local entities for immigration enforcement related expenses?

□Yes or □ No

Federal Response To State And Local Arrests: If elected President, will you promptly evaluate the 27% of prisoners that are non-citizens so that illegal alien criminals can be processed and deported at the end of their sentences, and will you implement a mandatory federal response to state and local law enforcement when they apprehend an illegal alien for a DUI, child abuse crime, or any felony?

□Yes or □ No

End Catch and Release: If elected President, will you put an end to the existing policy that allows illegal aliens caught inside our country to be released on bail after their arrest while they await their initial court appearance?

□Yes or □ No

List Illegal Aliens In the NCIC: If elected President, will you immediately expand the National Crime Information Center's (NCIC) Immigration Violators File to include: (A) aliens against whom a final order of removal has been issued; (B) aliens who have signed a voluntary departure agreement; (C) aliens who have overstayed their authorized period of stay; and (D) aliens whose visas have been revoked?

□Yes or □ No

IV. DISCOURAGE SANCTUARIES

Deny Federal Funds: If elected President, will you encourage compliance with Federal law by implementing a reduction of at least 10% of discretionary federal grants and highway funds to cities, states, universities, and other entities that undermine Federal law by implementing sanctuary policies, issuing driver's licenses to illegal aliens, or offering education benefits to illegal aliens (such as in-state tuition) that are not available to all legal residents and citizens?

□Yes or □ No

Close Financial Loopholes: If elected President, will you rewrite the Treasury regulations to close the loophole that allows illegal aliens to open U.S. based bank accounts?

□Yes or □ No

V. IMPROVE THE LEGAL IMMIGRATION PROCESS

Replace Visa Lottery and Chain Migration with Merit Based Immigration System: If elected President, will you eliminate the visa lottery program and change current preference categories that guarantee automatic entry for aging parents and extended family members and replace it with a system that fairly and objectively evaluates at least 50% of applicants based on characteristics such as education, skills, English ability, and age?

□Yes or □ No

Pathway to Citizenship: If elected President, will you take a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens off the table?

□Yes or □ No

Seek Necessary Authority: If elected President, will you ask Congress for necessary laws or funds to execute these commitments?

□Yes or □ No

By signing this document, I express to the American people that I understand the challenges of ending illegal immigration, I am personally committed to that goal, and I will take the actions reasonable and necessary to achieve it.

Social_Conservative please fill me in on what Sessions wants answered. I am familiar with Numbers USA and have you seen the data regarding the issues re: illegals and how McCains homestate is suffereing and how he chooses to ignore the issues. Please read my other statement above. Thanks.

By the way, I am certain Romney is anti-Amnesty I live near MA and he was very firm about empowering the state police to enforce the laws. Really. This is a man who means what he says and will do the right thing!

Hi everyone! I recently viewed a very telling UTube video where 2 people in a townhall discussion with Sen McCain queried him about anchor babies and what he was going to do about it. McNasty said" I wont dignify the question with an answer".......then the lady (the second person who wanted her question answered) was told to "shut up" and I think was ushered out. Does anyone know anything about this and if you do I need to locate the video and send it on. Thanks.

I am leaning toward supporting Gov Romney, but I find it troubling that he is unwilling to sign the NumbersUSA pledge or answer Sen. Sessions questions about illegal immigration. This suggests he isn't being upfront about his intentions, in my opinion. If I have any lingering doubts when it is time to cast my vote (in the primary OR the general election), I won't vote for him.

If he is anti-amnesty, why won't he remove all doubt and make use of the pledge and Sessions's questionnaire?

Romney is the most qualified to lead this country and will be a strong competitor.
I don't trust the polls!!! He's has a proven track record.

How many 71 year old men have been hired by Corporate America lately? Mc Cain is too old and represents the past. He's a one-note candidate that flaunts his war hero record and Washington croonie endorsements. He's a flawed candidate. If he can't win the Republican debate how can he expect to compete against the Dems who are crafty orators?

Romney will CHANGE and clean up Washington, a real virtue. He won't owe favors…day one.

Why are rich democrats exempt from criticism when contributing money in their own campaign i.e., Kennedy clan, Rockefellers & Corzine but the same standard is not applied to Republicans? Hypocrisy!!

I don't trust Huckapoo… he's a whiner. He's the deal breaker, the Romney spoiler who wants to be McCain’s running mate. It’s so apparent because he's not going after the so-called fore runner.

Hillary had her chance. What has she done? She takes credit when things are going well and faults others when there not. If she were in the boardroom she would here the words…Your fired!!!

I voted for Mitt during the Iowa caucuses and was on his band wagon from early on. He is articulate, reasoned, respectful, knowledgeable and open minded enough to be President of the whole United States. These are qualities not in the other two candidates - McCain and Huckabee. They both claim to be so honest, but they have both been caught, in my opinion, in deception. When Mike said the cross in his Christmas advertisement in Iowa was a mere conincidence -- well, I was born during the night, but NOT last night, Mike. Chalk one up for a lie on the Hucklebee side. And the other night in the debate in California, McCain's performance solidified my long time opinion of him of being mean, deceitful, contrary for the fun of it. His smirk and eye rolling were so juvenile. Mitt acted so professional about McCain's feeble attempt to put Mitt in the "cut and run" camp. That was so lame and unbelieveable. I have more reasons to support Mitt on the issues and policies -- but most importantly I support him because of his commitment to his family, country, ethical behavior and positive attitude. Character counts -- mightily. I don't know if Barack has integrity or not frankly, but I know McCain and Huckleberry don't. So if Mitt is not our candidate, I'll vote for the person that at least has integrity.

Pass this on to all today... Whole Message: " Vote for Mitt Romney for President of our Country." ...Thanks M.J. Weston
--------------------------------------------------

Yes one of the greater achievements of McNasty is that he actively approached John Kerry about the possibility of running as VP with Kerry in 2004. McNasty has made public statements at different times that John Kerry and Hillary Clinton both would make good Presidents. Now the only question on the table is whether John McCain would make a good president. I say not of our Country. Never.

Luckily for us Mitt Romney has stepped forward to serve our Country and in my opinion is the best candidate in many, many years.

Hey guys, I've been a McCain supporter up until now. I recently heard that an anonymous aide to McCain left his campaign due to a recent medical evaluation that indicated the candidate may be developing Alzheimer's. At first I refused to believe this story, but then in the debate I counted four times where he seemed to forget the question he was asked and went off on some tangential, completely unrelated story. I guess I had always noticed, and just assumed it was dodging of a tough question. However, some of these questions were very basic and non-controversial, and I began to get worried. Has anyone else heard more about this?

I feel this is of the utmost importance, if Mitt Romney would add on his platform, a cap on interest rates that credit cards charge, this would attract a multitude of people. This is part of the problem many Americans are having and that is paying off debt caused by exhorbitant rates. Fortunately I am not effected by this, but know so many are. I was an independent all my life, but switched to Republican just so I could vote in the primary for Mitt. Please keep up the great work! You are the only viable candidate as far as I am concerned. (By the way, my computer is down and I have to use my husband's screen name in order to hopefully reach you.) I want to thank you, a man of such high integrity and optimism, for trying to save this country from the doom and gloom crew. You have my utmost respect for taking on this challenge. Please do not give up we need you so badly. It seems the media is really distorting things because your name abounds so favorably with callers on the radio, peoplel I speak with, and I believe you are truly the favorite, but the media just doesn't announce this enough. By the way, just a suggestion, re all of McCain's endorsements from the Washington crowd, you might say, and this would be so truthful, that you haven't been in Washington for 25 years developing and participating in all the cronyism that he has over the years. That is the only reason he is being endorsed. If you had been, I am sure you would have some major endorsements too. That is clearly the only reason he has received endorsements. Please don't give up, the country desperately needs you now, right now.

I was just listening to the Laura Ingraham show tonight and she just played an audio of McCain stating that he would consider being on the ticket as Vice President with his good friend John Carry in the last Presidential race in 2004. Can you imagine that!!!!! I could not believe my ears. The front runner for the Repubican nomination considered being the running mate with the biggest liberal in the country!!! on the Democrat ticket!! and now he says that he is the Reagan conservative in the Republican Party??? Totally mind boggling!!! I do barely remember this in the news in 2004

I did a google on this and found the article :

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4542473

Laura also said that Michael Reagan said that McCain was not a Reagan conservative!!! From Reagan's own son!!

My question is, why haven't these things been brought up in the campaign - I think that it may good for people to remember that McCain considered changing parties and going with a liberal ticket against the GOP - talk about changing positions!!!!! He should have just said No

I would rather vote for the democratic candidate than John McCain. At least we can re-take the White House in 2012. As much as I like Bush for his stubborn principles, I am afraid McCain in the White House would be a much worse experience in the same direction with a much more liberal agenda.

We need drastic change in Washington, especially economically with someone who is not afraid to assess a situation and if they are wrong, change with the new information. If Republicans do not stop their bigoted divisiveness and cave to their true principals just because " I don't agree with anything McCain stands for, but I think he can win" we will definitely cease to be great, and cease to be the party of Lincoln and Reagan. Funny how the greatest civilizations and groups in history always are destroyed from within. What does the future hold with the death of the Republican Conservatism? We have definately done it to ourselves.

I don't understand florida "republicans". All John McCain has to do is open his mouth and let the ignorance spill out into the air! This guy is a bumbling fool! Forget that he has consistently taken the wrong course on conservative issues in the senate, HE'S A MORON!!! I agree with Ann Coulter in her recent endorsement (loosely used) of Hillary Clinton. I'd much rather have an intelligent liberal in office, someone we can blame after 4 years for failed policies. At the end of 4 years of McCain (which let's face it, he won't win the general election anyway), Republicans will have to take the blame for his complete idiocy that will inevitably spill over into every single policy this "hero" will support, both at home and abroad. I don't want to have to answer for John McCain. He's perfect for libs, though...they might even support him in the general election. Why? because they'll get their ridiculous liberal policies--and republicans will get the blame for them when they fail!

John McCain has been a part of Washington Corruption. He was one of the five Senates who involved in Savings & Loans scandal in later 80's. It is also called "The Keating Five".

In 1989, the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association of Irvine, CA, collapsed. Lincoln's Chairman, Charles H. Keating Jr., was faulted for the thrift's failure. Keating told the House Banking Committee that the FHLBB and its former chief Edwin J. Gray were pursuing a vendetta against him. Gray testified that several U.S. senators had approached him and requested that he ease off on the Lincoln investigation. It came out that these senators had been beneficiaries of 1.3 million in campaign contributions from Keating.

This allegation set off a series of investigations by the California government, the United States Department of Justice, and the Senate Ethics Committee. The Ethics committee's investigation focused on five senators: Alan Cranston (D_CA), Dennis DeConnis (D-AZ), John Glenn (D_OH), John McCain (R_AZ) and Donald Riegle Jr.(D_MI), who became known as the Keating Five. After the investigation, the Committee recommended censure for Cranston and criticized the other four. Most of them did not seek for re-election, and John McCain is the only one who left in Senate. John McCain is a part of Washington Corruption. The country is in another Savings & Loans crisis, and how people could forget the Washington corruption that associated with John McCain. IF Republican Party votes for John McCain for the President of United State, we become the party of Washington Corruption.

Well it is good that McNasty is getting all the meaningless RHINO endorsements. Many of those people need to be remembered and targeted for defeat at the polls for their support of the Amnesty Bill and McNasty.

Maybe Romney should secure and announce the endorsements of ordinary citizens in each of the states and contrast the regular people against the Liberal politicians endorsing his opponent.

I agree that Romney now needs to get away from defending himself against McNasty's lies and go on the attack in TV ads, preferably not those that start off saying something nice about his opponents.

Oh by the way, McCain was nicknamed "McNasty" at the Naval Academy where he graduated 5th from the bottom of his class and with over 100 demerits. (On the other hand I believe President Carter graduated from the Naval Academy with zero demerits, so some demerits means you are normal.) In the case of McNasty, it indicated a problem with taking orders from those over him, not a good thing for a military man. And he hasn't changed much. Remember both his Grandfather and his Father were Admirals and you can get away with a lot when the Admiral is your Father. What would he be like when he is not supervised? It could get nasty.
