The Out and Out Bias of Jonathan Martin of The Politico Against Mitt Romney

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed that Jonathan Martin of The Politico’s blatant disregard for Romney and the Republican Presidential Nomination. Today for example Not A Single Mention of Romney’s 5pt lead over McCain in Florida.

Here are an example of other posts not exactly favorable to Governor Romney:

There are several others, just go back into his archives. This guy has nothing but contempt for Romney, and I felt the strong need to call him out on it.

Carl Cameron from Fox News gives Romney no credit as well. I sent an email to Fox News concerning it as follows:
Why is it so hard for Carl Cameron to acknowledge Mitt Romney as a serious contender in the GOP race? I just heard his report on the road in FL talking about the various areas of the state that each candidate can appeal to as well as who might benefit from Fred Thompson’s ending of his candidacy. Not one mention of Mitt Romney, who by all intents and purposes is leading the field in EVERY WAY. Other times Carl has discounted him often.

  2. vb Says:

Politico just suggested on Fox News today that Huckabee’s goal in FL is to take away votes from Mitt to aid McCain. Pretty right on I think.

I have seen this for months and have sent Jonathan Martin a few critical emails including one in which I call him a “hack”

I also told him Glen Johnson would be proud. I also IMed him and called him a hack and called him out on some critiques. I hate him.

  4. Mark VA Says:

vb - Rush said the same thing just minutes ago (McCain and Huckabee are Two Timing Romney). Rush also (to my great pleasure) all but endorsed Mitt again. GO MITT!!!

I post on Politico every day and his bias against Mitt has been blatant all year. Also, I saw Carl Cameron’s coverage you were talking about vb. You’re right, not one mention of Mitt. Even when addressing where the Fred Thompson supporters might go if Fred drops out, he mentioned McCain, Rudy, and Huck but not Mitt, who according to polls the majority of Thompson voters have as their second choice.

  6. JA Says:

Jonathan Martin’s personal hatred/jealousy of Mitt reaches new heights every day. I honestly think that if Mitt were running against Hitler, Jonathan would be out there shaking his pom-poms for Hitler! Fox News has gone from bad to worse with their anti-Romney bias. From a business perspective, why are they trying to alienate Romney supporters? I imagine we are a pretty desirable demographic for a so-called conservative news channel.

An excellent link from mymanmitt. Nice to see someone in the media starting to stand up for Mitt!

I think this last article by Jonathan, Mccain Lover, Mitt-Killer, was right on. Jonathan obviously is not a fan of Mitt, but sometimes he’s right on. Huck is only in the race to take votes away from Mitt. That is his only purpose. As is Thompsons. Thank you Jonathan by bringing this to the forefront.

    bigmo,
I post on there, too, and you guys noticed it before I did. I thought you guys were being too hard on him until the rubber hit the road, people started voting, and the bias from every journalist came out far more strongly. I tend to think he’s just so for McCain and puts down his strongest opponent. I don’t know. I’ve wondered something today to the question everyone asks, supporter or outsider looking in, why the hatred for such a decent, good man? I noticed it even with a family member who suddenly had a problem with too rich, intelligent, and perfect and because it was so out of character for her, it really made me ponder it. A theory, besides the issues that goad liberals, is that Romney is a Baby-boomer and lived a very different lifestyle and went through very different experiences than the average Baby-boomer. When they were going through the sexual revolution, having 1 or 2 children if any at all, putting them in daycare, divorcing, etc., Romney’s family life resembled their parent’s life more. My family member thought Clinton was sleazy, still does, and admired the “good” George H.W. Bush. I think having someone of “their” generation who didn’t live such a messy and oftentimes sad life, inspires jealousy.

  11. JoyP Says:

Emily, that is just what Rush said. The other candidates and people who hate Mitt are jealous of him. They don’t want to believe there really are people with strong values who walk to walk. It makes them feel bad about themselves. They don’t want heroes to live up to, they want apologists who are “real”, which means they do not have strong values to make a person feel guilty.

  12. Frozone Says:

You are onto something here. There are others who have done this (survived the 60’s unscathed), but we are regarded with disbelief when confronted by our contemporaries (did you inhale? No sir, never even tried it).

We all want to hold our elected officials to a higher standard, why should we fear one that is successful? This is the kind of example we all need, in the White House.

    Governor Romney for President.

  13. Tray Says:

McCain is credited for his service to our country. I wonder why he did not do more to find the MIA’s. There was a movie posted on this site regarding that issue. I just feel like McCain has something he is hiding. I hear that Ross Perot endorsed Romney. I wonder what he thinks of McCain.

I guess McCain does not make people feel guilty because he is ‘real’.

I don’t like McCain because I don’t think he is inspiring.

We need someone who can inspire Americans to be better, work harder and help us believe and be optimistic about our future. Mitt Romney can do this for America.
