Consider these points:
- McCain’s the candidate of amnesty for illegal aliens, (more here)
- McCain supports embryonic stem-cell research
- McCain has said “I would not support repeal of Roe vs. Wade”.
- McCain opposed the Bush tax cuts, (and still does), and refuses to sign the “No New Taxes” pledge, (more here)..
- McCain supports legislation that would increase taxes on energy.
- McCain was the ring-leader of the Senate “Gang of 14″, which kept the then Senate Republican leadership from ending the ability of Democrats to filibuster Bush’s judicial nominees, (more here).
- McCain supports legislation to grant due-process rights to terrorists.
- McCain sponsored the legislation which restricts free-speech rights of those involved in the political process, (the McCain/Feingold bill)

And Romney is far from the economic saviour.

The next week or so will be the best time to reach out to Fred Thompson and Ron Paul supporters. If we don’t work together for Mitt, its going to be McCain, and should he be elected president he will no longer have to feign any sort of aversion to amnesty. With a Democratic House and Senate, he will wreak havoc. Whatever pork he attempts to cut will be negligible and stand in glaring contrast to the staggering new entitlement costs of his immigration maneuvers. The last thing we need is a Republican president who has attempted to out-liberal the Democrats for the sake of media favor. We can’t continue to divide the anti-McCain vote. Its time to unite for the man best positioned to stop him. That man is the current delegate leader - Mitt Romney.

Romney is not running as a savior (economic or otherwise) but as a problem solver. His skills are such that he’ll tackle and solve, in creative ways, some of the most intractable issues we’ve faced and will face. It’s the method that we like, and that’s why we support Governor Romney.
