Calling all NH Republicans…
With Obama looking to suck a number of independents away from John McCain today, it’s of utmost important for Republicans to come out and vote for Mitt. With the leading Democratic candidate preaching change and unity, we need our own uniter, someone who inspires us to be better and to find solutions to problems. John McCain has been in the Senate for over two decades and has had his chance, but has proven to be more a divider than a uniter. With red states barely outnumbering blue states in 2000 and 2004, we’ll need the entire party to keep the White House.
McCain has a reputation as being difficult to get along with and, as was demonstrated in the debates, is sometimes downright nasty. He makes as many enemies as he does friends. He’s not a uniter, and that will become clear as the campaign progresses.
But today NH Republicans can take their party back from their Independent neighbors and pick Mitt as the candidate. Mitt’s conservative record on tax cuts, immigration, balancing the budget, family values and smaller government make Mitt the man who can unite the whole GOP. He’s been endorsed by Robert Bork because Mitt supports strict constructionist judges who’ll support the 2d amendment and avoid creating new legislation out of the Constitution. He’s been endorsed by the National Review because he’s the best overall candidate. I believe Mitt is also a contender to unite the country (just listen to the weekend’s debates–no one else kept their cool, stuck to issues or inspired like Mitt did), and the best counter-argument to Obama. Get out today and vote. And show the country the GOP’s approach with limited government and free market answers is still what the people want, and not Obama’s turn to the left.

Paul, your comments remind me of the image I had last night as I fell asleep. I was picturing McCain as president, being figuratively poked repeatedly by the stresses of office until he turned red in the face, set his jaw and exploded. The problem…his finger was on the button. The man is unstable. If he loses his cool with foreign diplomacy, what kind of damage could he do?

It is important for voters to remember that Mitt Romney is VERY STRONG on national security, which I believe is the most basic issue we face now.
I was at the Olympic games in Salt Lake City in 2002, just a few short months after the Sept.11 attack. Many thought the games should be cancelled due to security risks.
There were would be millions of people coming here to SLC and there would be visitors from nearly every country of the world. The Olympic venues were scattered throughout the state. The logistics of putting together the security needed for this event were monumental. Yet, Gov. Mitt Romney took the challenge and succeeded in a way that no one else could have! To me, he is qualified to be President just from this one acheivement and this is only the tip of the iceberg. His successes and turnarounds and acheivements are innumerable.
Let the best man win! Mitt Romney!

OK McCain, let’s see if I have this right.
You have been in Washington for how many decades? Two or is this your third? Is Washington better today or is it worse? Let me see if I can remember what your accomplishments are:
1. Something with Ted Kennedy I seem to remember. Was it a conservative thing or does Ted Kennedy’s presence really tell us all we need to know about that?
2. You did something with another hugely liberal Democrat I think. Was it Russ Finegold? Yeah, I think that is it. The presence of another liberal Democrat’s name on your work tells us a lot about where your heart is there too.
3. Now you did something with another Democrat in Joe Lieberman, albeit one we kind of like I will admit, at least on defense issues.
4. You jumped on General Petraeus’ surge idea fairly early. I have to give you credit for that although it wasn’t your idea. But you did the right thing there. That’s ONE. I will give you credit for it even though it was somebody elses’ idea.
5. What else? You seem to get along well the Clinton’s and you speak highly of Barack Obama. I have to admit I do kind of like Obama’s wife. I would hire her to get me out of a legal jam. I don’t know what he has ever done though that is worthy of comment.
But I am still at a loss to find something you did for Republicans. You did a lot for Democrats but nothing for conservatives except propose to make it easier for illegal aliens to get into the US and stay here. Oh wait - that is another Democrat thing.
So I guess I am still at a loss to find anything you did for Republicans. Maybe somebody can help me out here.
