Great night! I don’t deny I have my favorite in this contest, but even trying to look at everything objectively, its still clear that Romney had the night he needed and was looking for.
If he pulls this out on Tuesday, it will be because of McCain’s nastiness last night mixed with Romney’s articulate performance tonight.
I didn’t get to see the focus group stuff, but from what Michelle Malkin says apparently Romney won over the entire room…
Rough night for Huckabee. Front runner status doesn’t suit him very well. Huck after winning Iowa is like watching the dog who caught the car and is trying to figure out what to do with it.
McCain was a little more subdued, though still went with his patriotism punch… (Did anybody else know McCain was in the service?) Not a bad blow, compared to some of the really cheap shots he was throwing last night, but it didn’t faze Romney. McCain still comes off like he’d rather talk about Charles Keating than have to discuss immigration policy.
Fred and Rudy you’d hardly know were there. They can complain about airtime, but they’ve never attempted to be a factor in New Hampshire, so why not focus on the guys who are?
Neutral for Fred, Rudy. Rough for Huckabee. Great night for Mitt. Neutral for McCain, except he’s very likely lost ground to Romney.

My computer kept going out, but what I saw of the debate showed McCain much less combative. Hmmm…wonder if he was up late last night reading some of the blog posts - he really off-putting.
I’m thrilled Romney did so well. I think that most of the country has no idea what a rare combination of intelligence, leadership, experience and moral certitude we’d have with a President Romney.
