What if Utah was the first to Caucus…

…60% of the caucus voters were LDS, and Mitt only got 34% of the vote, what would the media story be?

A commenter on one of the Washington Post blogs made this point and I thought it was quite brilliant.

Turn Rich Lowry’s numbers around and you’d see something very interesting - if Utah was the first caucus and 60% of caucusers were Mormons and Mitt only got 1/3 of the vote and only won by 9 points, you’d say he lost. You’d say that even if his opponent had spent millions more. I hate to sound like a sore loser, but the media response doesn’t make sense to me. Given the favorable circumstances, I think Huckabee lost and Mitt won.

It doesn’t change the outcome, but it really brings out the media bias we are up against. (if you have the stomach for it, there’s many heated (and revealing) comments down the thread which make it eminently clear what else we are up against)

    Gues what?

Last month the Senate voted to remove any responsibilty from themselves to fund any more fence along our southern border and McCain didnt feel it important enough to vote upon. His lack of a vote became a default YES to the legislation.

I want this to be national headlines leading up to NH.

Nivek, do you have a link?

    Yes, 2 of them:

I am amazed how the media has largely buried this and not connected the dots for us. This non-vote comes AFTER the campiagning McCain said he learned his lesson on immigration during the debates. Apparently he has not.

Thanks for taking notice of this!

    Nivek,

I just posted your story at NY for Mitt:

Nice work! Let’s see if we can make McCain famous for this!

    Thanks Nealie,

I have been amazed over the last 24 hours that even among Romney supporters, this story cannot seem to get traction. I thibk this is a goldmine of an opportunity to show what McCain is doing with his public service right NOW.

I would liketo see those who run this site make this a huge deal.

I would love to see this be a top story on the Drudge Report!

I first learned of this from a man who I am not really a huge fan of duer to his overriding negativity much of the time, but I gotta give him credit for posting this on the front page of his site, and that man is Mike Savage.
