George Will on John McCain & Mike Huckabee
On yesterday’s This Week with George Stephanapolus (ABC), George Will made some comments that were classic “Will” — very concise and intelligent.
In response to the Des Moines Register endorsement of John McCain, Will said something like, “Well, that shouldn’t surprise too many people; everybody knows that John McCain has always been ‘the media’s Republican candidate.’” (”media” as in Mainstream Media)
Commenting about Huckabee, he totally ripped him referring first to Huckabee’s “over 1,000 pardons and commuations; more than the number of his three predecessors combined, including Bill Clinton!” Then he mentioned the NEA endorsement of Huckabee saying something like, “The NEA typically only endorses liberal candidates — the NEA likes Huckabee for his tax policies . . . ”
