I heard Rush spout the same save our country crap when he backed Bush, and look at what that got you. Nothing but debt debt debt. And if any of the brain dead Rush listeners could actually think they would know such a massive accumulation of debt creates high inflation which leads to recession.

As for Rush running America, if that was true, laughably it isn't, he created a recession.

Keep listening to this drugged out dope and you wont save America...

Romney has had no decision making power at Bain Capital since 2002. It's not "Romney's investment firm". So, I don't think you're too cynical, but I guess you'll need to keep grinding on that ax of yours...

Would I be too cynical to suggest that Rush's new-found fondness for Romney might just perhaps have anything to do with the fact that Romney's investment firm Bain Capital is in the final stages of acquiring ClearChannel Communications, who write the paychecks of both Limbaugh and Hannity?

Of course Giuliani is hiding. AwShucksabee winning is the best thing that could happen to municipal Rudy. Besides, it diverts all the attention from his affair and the money that was spent on security for his mistress. It also diverts attention from his inane attack on Romney about landscapers. Did Giuliani check the papers of every cook and bus boy at every place he ate in New York?

Leslie, the MSM loves to make important people and break them down. If all you have behind you is the media hype, and no substance, it doesn't take much at all for them to destroy you. I think it's interesting that through the course of this race we've had a number of "two man" races. There's been McCain vs. Romney, Guilliani vs. Romney, and now Huckabee vs. Romney. The one consistency is Romney. He has the substance to keep pulling on top in most of these races. I think that the Huckabee tide will eventually go out. Whether it goes out in time for Mitt to win Iowa is another question because we are so close. But also, no Republican nominee has ever won both Iowa and New Hampshire. So Huckabee may win the Iowa battle but lose the Nomination war.

I've noticed a trend with Sean Hannity, Chris Matthews and others since Mitt's speech away from Giuliani, Huckabee and toward Mitt. Giuliani is barely heard from anymore. Is he purposely laying low, or has the media lost interest in him, do you think?
One thing that drives me crazy about the media is how they boosted Huck up for the last month with nonstop "Huckmentum" spin, and now they are tearing him down. He should never have been elevated in the first place.

We have to be fair, too. Rush also called Mitt's answer to the "taxes on the rich" question in yesterday's debate "a stupid answer, Mitt." He made his staff play part of Mitt's answer back on the cutting spending, then said, "Wait, is this the same guy?" or something like that.

To be honest, I didn't like the way Mitt answered that either. Mitt said he wouldn't lose sleep at right about taxes on the rich, but was concerned about the middle class tax crunch (paraphrasing). I think the appropriate response would have been, "Just about everyone who pays taxes in this country is taxed to much," quickly explain why, and talk about his plan to lower rates and eliminate investment taxes to spur economic growth.

I'm sure Mitt realizes this. And I know what his tax and spending philosophy is. I wanted Iowans to know it also and what sense it makes.

good read thanks for posting it up.

I really like his analytical view of things. When he goes off like that during debates its like i feel the solution part of my brain turn on and the tribal faction part turn off for the first time in along time during a political discussion.

Even though i do worry a little about his position changes it seems pretty clear that he approaches all the problems from "whats best for America" and "whats the will of the people". Sure it drives idealogues crazy. Bush sticks to his decisions no matter what. I've still not forgiven bush for the amnesty deal.

With Romney I know whatever he faces he wont spit in the eye of 80% of the people who elected him amid scorn and hate. Theres always a solution the rational people will agree with thats in their best interest. A good leader and communicator like Mitt can bring most of the rest on board.
