World News: PM John Howard’s Coalition Loses Australian Election

November 24th, 2007 Posted in World News

Bad news out of Australia tonight. Perhaps America’s strongest ally in the world, PM Howard of Australia, appears to have been defeated in today’s elections. His leadership (and apolitical soundbites) in the continuing War on Terror will be greatly missed.

So sad. The victor’s platform sounds like Al Gore’s: Pull troops out of Iraq and sign the Kyoto Protocol.

Amen there. I am repeatedly amazed at the stupidity shown by many folks across the globe. They actually interviewed some guy who said that the economy under 11 years of Howard was “great,” but he voted Howard out because “it was time for a change.” What? I mean, with the ridiculous climate policies of the Aussie left, they will get their change alright–and they’ll regret it too.

Oh well, England moves away from the US in the latest elections. Austrailia now follows–but FRANCE (and Germany) move closer to us! Go figure.
