Great news. Romney met expectations and had a decisive win.

Can anyone explain to me the disparity between votes cast (14,302) and tickets sold(26,000) (http://cycloneconservatives.blogspot.com/)? I know that some of the candidates had bought blocks of tickets and so may not have handed them all out. If you were a supporter from out of state could you have bought a ticket even though you were inelligle to vote?

A lot of the people there weren’t Iowa residents. Hell, Gov. Romney had almost a hundred of his relatives there who couldn’t vote.

Sen. Brownback, Gov. Huckabee, Gov. Thompson, and Rep. Paul all had a lot of people there from out-of-state. Paul’s support in particular was inflated by the number of out-of-state supporters before the voting exposed him.

Exposed him? I don’t get how Paul was “exposed” was it a secret that hundreds of his supporters would be there? The only thing that was exposed was that our political system is nothing more than a dog and pony show. Too bad in America, you and literally buy someones vote. What a message…vote for me! After all, I have more money than all the other candidates! I fought in Iraq and was there during the elections. Pitty we don’t have the courage of the Iraqis. The courage to call a campaign what it is a wealth contest.

    Sid-
Fundraising is indicative of a candidates support base. Without his own contributions Romney has still raised more than any other GOP candidate. Clearly shows he has a broad support base. You Paulsters are always complaining that he bought the vote, but do you ever consider that is was die hard supporters (like me) who gave him that money to help organize and orchestrate a huge showing.

Candidates must have a message, organization, and a large support base to be victorious. What Ron Paul lacks is the last one, and it’s probably because of his message. It doesn’t resonate well with me, and obviously many others.
