Mr. Romney has taken a fresh new approach to campaigning. He admitted he was wrong about something. What a novel idea! However, he did not go far enough.

All the host (Mr. Mickelson) was trying to do was have Mr. Romney reconcile his religious views with how he has acted while in a position of political power. It is clear that Mr. Romney could not satisfactorily do this, so he said he "was wrong" about that. Mr. Mickelson pointed out that he could be excommunicated from his church for his actions (or inactions), and Mr. Romney kept shooting this down. It appears he wants to pick and choose which of the Mormon beliefs and practices appeal to him; sort of a 'line-item religious veto.'

Mr. Mickelson correctly pointed out that the sole Constitutional function of the Supreme Court is to interpret the law. They are not to create new law. Sadly, creating new law is exactly what they do over and over. He pointed out how Mr. Romney had occasion to stop this pratice in his own state as governor, but instead, Governor Romney dropped the ball and allowed it to happen. This is a man who will not stand up to the United States Supreme Court when THEY create new law, either. Mr. Romney tried to spin this by avoiding the question. Then he took the bait and began discussing his religion Once he got there, Jan held his ground, and held it well. Mr. Romney never did successfully defend his inaction toward the Massachusetts Supreme Court, nor did he justify how he could have been pro-abortion. I do not want this spineless man to become president.

Thank you for making this transcript! I could never get the video to play after three days of trying... so I really appreciate this transcript.
Romney did an excellent job of defending his faith and his pro-life record wow!!!! I love it! I never understand how it is that people seem to be able to ignore what he has a done and worked for since he took a firm stance as a politican for Pro-life issues. To me we never have to worry about him not standing firm to his commitment to pro-life because, he is was always personally Pro-life from the beginning. Pro-life is where his heart is! For me I believe that is where he will stay! I think it is a case of " Flip" with no " flop" ever coming.

Romney is absolutely brilliant in this exchange. The arrogance and silliness of the host is astounding. I am glad that Mitt told him how it is. I also think that this discussion ought to give anyone who worries about the role of Mitt's religion in the white house a big sigh of relief. He wants to represent all of America.

mish,
Your website is nicely laid out. Too bad the content is nothing but your religious bigotry. Go elsewhere to peddle your lies.

That's it! Gov. Romney has just had his ultimate speech in defence for his religion. Spot on and this should be aired nationwide. Mr. Mickelson represented those public who are misguided and have little know how about Mormonism. This stolen conversation will let them understand the position of the Mormon (LDS) Church on government. Mormons believe in the separation of church and government. This the people should know.
