Romney, the “Family Values” Candidate

July 30th, 2007 Posted in Family Values, Mitt Romney

I just finished watching three of the Romney boys give a tour of the Mitt-Mobile on Foxnews. Every time I have seen the Romney family in any type of media appearance I have been tremendously impressed. You can tell that they are genuine and sincere in talking about how important family is to them. It so refreshing to see a Presidential candidate who has had a long and healthy relationship with his wife and has a loving, functional family. For voters who are looking for a candidate that will help strengthen the American family and make it a serious priority, Romney is the answer. Expect to see more headlines likes this one in the future.

  1. Daniel Newby Says:

I am confused why no one seems to be facing this issue. In 2006, Romney signed a bill that vastly increased taxpayer funding of abortions and abortifacients — as part of his much-lauded universal health care plan.

Romney had a mouth, a veto pen, and a hand, all of which were apparently functional. He could have fought for family values, taxpayers, and unborn victims, by vetoing the bill and speaking publicly against it. Instead, he signed the bill, and said nothing.

Would his veto have been overridden by the legislature? Perhaps, but so what? Romney had a perfect opportunity to stand up for taxpayers who believe frivolous abortions may be equivalent to murder, and for and the innocent victims of taxpayer-funded abortions-on-demand.

Instead, Romney put the last ceremonial nail in their collective and individual coffins. I would like to pose this to all Romney supporters: If Adolf Hitler’s Reichstag had sent forward a bill to enact a universal health care plan, and, because of the legislation, more Jews would be sent to taxpayer-funded concentration camps (where the end result was also death), what would you do?

Would you sign the entire bill because your veto might be overridden anyway? Would you then brag about your pro-Jew record? I don’t think so. Yet, for some reason, when it comes to frivolous, tax-funded abortions, we appear ready to look the other way.

If you don’t like the rest of the article, don’t read it. But at least be informed on his past political record with regard to this issue.
