Among Republicans
Q4.3 If the presidential primary election were held today, which of these candidates would you vote for?
“There isn’t a mayor or public official in this country that is more strongly pro immigrant than I am. Including disagreeing with President Clinton when he signed an anti immigrant legislation about 2 or 3 years ago.” - Rudy Giuliani
Haven’t had time to digest this yet, but on intial glance this looks to be pretty “meaty.” We would expect nothing less from the candidate who is laying out more ideas/proposals/policy plans on the table than anyone else in the field.
Summary: Washington is as divided on foreign policy as it has been at any point in the last 50 years. As the “greatest generation” did before us, we must move beyond political camps to unite around bold actions in order to build a strong America and a safer world. We must strengthen our military and economy, achieve energy independence, reenergize civilian and interagency capabilities, and revitalize our alliances.
“…I think that Rudy, as far as terrorism goes, is just entering his peak killing years and that is why I am for him.”
First of all Rudy is not in his peak killing years. Our solders are. We need someone at the top with competence, not anger. We need someone with strategy… Lincoln was always articulate… he didn’t come off like an angry guy, like Rudy. Neither did Washington. OK maybe Patton was, but he was a General. We need an angry general, or Secretary of Defense, but we need a calm president that can reassure our allies… but I digress… back to Miller. Continue Reading »

This post may appear to be all about John Edwards, but it is not. The timeliness of these cartoons was just too good to pass up, so I placed them here. For those of you who missed Dennis Miller on The O’Reilly Factor, you really missed it! The only thing I can say about his performance there tonight is AMAZING. Miller’s insightful wit is unmatched in any media in my opinion. He was in top form there tonight — indeed.
Dennis Miller’s piece was split between comments about John Edwards and Mitt Romney. Among the many cutting and truly funny things he said about Edwards, he called him an “empty vessel” and a “complete phoney.” Continue Reading »
Former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson will take a major step toward a 2008 run for the White House by “testing the waters” — beginning to raise money and hire campaign staff as early as Friday, several sources close to Thompson told CNN…
This source noted that Thompson likely will make appearances in some of the early primary and caucus states such as Iowa and New Hampshire before an official announcement.
Sorry folks, but is there really any news here? Yet another story from the MSM saying essentially that Fred is thinking about running. What a scoop! (Insert “sarcasm” emoticon here.)
I have to admit, however, with this announcement Fred is going farther than Colin Powell did back in 1996 (another non-candidate/candidate who played majorly coy until ultimately taking a pass).
Still, all of this “aw shucks, who me, President?” kabuki dance is getting really old. Really, what does it take to get this guy to make a decision?
People who get to know Romney end up liking him. Here is another case in point.
On May 16, during an interview on the O’Reilly Factor, Dennis Miller described Romney as a “snake oil salesman.” Just two weeks later on the same show Dennis Miller does a complete 180 on his perception of Romney. After continuing to get to know Romney and realizing that he is a serious contender, now Miller says that Romney has “done great in his debates so far” and “his plan…is a pretty smart one” when referring to his campaign strategy. After agreeing with O’Reilly that “you can’t get more presidential looking than Mitt Romney…if you were to make up a guy, this would be the guy that looks presidential,” Miller then says, “you back [that] up with the fact that he is competent too, he ran a pretty tight Olympics.” Miller sums up his thoughts on Romney with, “He is a pretty savvy guy, not only does he look good, he’s good at what he does.”…And this is from a guy that has publicly given his support to Giuliani.
