The very fact that the Clinton team even sees a need to make such a hire speaks volumes; namely, they don’t have a clue.
Mitt, by contrast, has little need to do so. There are already scores of evangelicals flocking to his banner because they like him and his message. Just look at his grassroots blogroll; none of the sites are paid or solicited. They blog because they LIKE ROMNEY. End of story.

Evangelicals are flocking to Mitt, huh?
Half (53%) of all Evangelical Christians say that they would not consider voting for a Mormon candidate.

Good luck with that. The Religious right who romney is so intent on sucking up to believes he belongs to a religious and dangerous cult.
All the screaming about gays and “activist” courts isn’t going to change that.
Romney has no chance. It’s kind of funny to see people so deluded they think otherwise.

No one said that Evangelicals are flocking to Mitt.
Why do you say that “The Religious right who romney is so intent on sucking up to”?
When did Mitt Romney “suck up to the religious right”? Was it in 2002 when he was running for Governor of Mass, when he said; “Call me old fashioned, but I don’t support gay marriage nor do I support civil union,” said Romney in an October 2002 gubernatorial debate.
Is every single member of Mass a member of the religious right?
Give us examples of Romney sucking up to the religious right.

Myclob-
You’re the best, and you are loved dearly.
That being said, I can’t help but wonder if your time wouldn’t be better spent not responding to lefty trolls with scintillating names like “hmmm.” Other than “Sandra Downs,” who is clearly angry that Mitt failed to invite her to the prom, all the trolls here are nothing more than agents provocateurs. Time and effort spent crafting thoughtful, fact-oriented rebuttals is time and effort wasted. Pearls before swine, so to speak.
Trolls- especially lefty trolls- never let facts get in the way of a good smear. Intellectually challenging “hmmm” will be about as productive as delivering the Gettysburg Address to a brick wall.
As maddening as hmmm’s vacuous scribblings are, the fact that trolls like it are crawling out of the woodwork so early is proof positive that Mitt Romney has superb potential to whoop some serious derriere. “hmmm” & Co. are just a little bit SKEERED. We should take “hmmm” as a good sign; but, it is not a sign to respond to.
Heck, why not just delete it? This is your blog and you can do whatever you want with it. It’s the United States of Myclob- not a democracy, but a benevolent dictatorship.
Just my three cents.

Hmmm’s points are well-taken (BTW, a phrase I never thought that I’d write before, lol). Romney does indeed have a large issue with the religious right. However, I think that Hmmm has it wrong in his final conclusion. I do feel that Romney will be successful in assuaging the concerns of evangelicals in much the same way as JFK. Clinton, on the other hand, seems to seeth over people of faith. More than a few choice phrases will be needed to overcome their suspicion–nay, thei conviction–that Clinton detests anything to do with conservative christians.
