~~~Happy Birthday Elect Romney in 2008~~~
One year ago today I began “Elect Romney in 2008 - A blog for the discussion of our next President, Mitt Romney”. Boy what a year makes. If you click the link above it’ll take you to the very first post here. It describes speculation about whether Governor Romney was going to run for President. In that not much has changed in the past year. But, in so many other ways things have indeed changed. The Governor has decided not to run for re-election for Governor of the state of Massachusetts. He is criss-cross-ing the country now more than ever, and he’s ranked #2 by the National Journal.
Who would have thought that he’d make it this far in one short year? Me of course, I say that in a kind of joking way but there is a hint of seriousness in the statement as well. I have thought from the very beginning when I started researching him, and deciding who to support for 2008 that Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts was going to be it. He has proven that point to me over and over again in the past year, from his consistent talk of budgetary discipline to his hallmark signing of Health Care Reform. Time will only tell whether he runs for President, but my bet is that he will. And when all is said and done on the night of November 4th, 2008 we’ll be watching President-Elect Mitt Romney give his acceptance speech for President of the United States of America. What exciting days/weeks/months/years lie ahead.
Happy B-Day! That’s great! Thanks for taking me on once the blog had advanced along to the top grassroots political blogsite for 2008!
P.S. That’s now the 3rd month in a row that Romney has been #2 in that ranking. Still room to improve!
