Well, congratulations I guess. I was actually interested in seeing how your campaign panned out but no more. I WILL NOT vote for you to be President!

The reason you ask? You sought a totally unnecessary government solution to a problem where President Bush has already put in place a private solution; health care savings accounts that roll over instead of forcing people to use or lose. Coupled with catastrophic health care coverage it puts the individual in charge as you can now search for a physician and pay cash which will reduce costs as, most physicians say, that it is insurance administrative costs that help drive up the total bill. The reason there are so many uninsured is, why buy insurance when the federal and state governments have mandated that emergency rooms cannot refuse service to anyone. Did you get rid of that mandate?

Now that the mechanism is in place the Democrats who control your legislature will make this program into what they wish and if anyone tries to force their hand the MSM will scream to high heaven.

The reason I won’t vote for you? You saw a government solution to a problem and instead of standing up for private citizens you went along with the Democrats. Also, you are relying on Federal Funds from people like me to help your state and that makes my hair stand on end.

Too bad, I was really thinking you had a chance but not with my vote.

PS You can believe ABC polls all you want but I never do.

Are are sure about this? The Heritage Foundation analysis I read indicated that the option was to buy insurance or demonstrate the ability to pay, which could be done with a $10,000 account, cooincidently the size of the health care savings accounts you refer to.

In addition, if the Federal government has mandated that nobody is denied benefits, the Governor of Massachussetts cannot unilaterally change that; he has to deal with the federal mandate. Requiring individuals to take responsibility for their own care seems like the best solution to a very difficult problem to me.

  3. Casey S. Says:

Exactly. Healthcare providers don’t have to right to refuse service that is why the individual mandate is necessary. If we could guarantee that you would never seek healthcare then opting out would be an option.
