Elect Romney In 2008 Shop!

March 17th, 2006 | 2 Comments | Posted in Site News

Well, I’ve finally gotten around to opening the Elect Romney in 2008 Shop! The products are your typical cafepress fare. The proceeds from the products will be divided threefold. One, it will go toward keeping the blog up and operating. As we have gone on the traffic has increased substantially, and I have no doubt that the traffic will only be more. Second, the proceeds will go toward buying more merchandise that I can then give away to spread the word about Mr. Romney. Lastly, the rest will go toward the future Romney Campaign when it is announced. The link is listed in my blog roll permanantly, and as a part of this message. I appreciate all the support I can get.

Thank You,

AP Newsbreak: Romney to attend Boston Archbishop O’Malley’s elevation to cardinal

March 17th, 2006 | 2 Comments | Posted in News Articles

By Glen Johnson, AP Political Writer | March 17, 2006

NASHUA, N.H. –Gov. Mitt Romney, who this week filed a bill that would allow a Catholic social service agency to deny adoptions to gay couples, will fly to Rome next week to attend Archbishop Sean O’Malley’s elevation to cardinal at the Vatican.

“This is extraordinary, and particularly for someone of my faith,” said Romney, a Mormon, before he spoke at a St. Patrick’s Day breakfast in New Hampshire, an early presidential state. “I don’t know that there’s ever been a Mormon guy that’s been to the Vatican for a Mass held by the Pope, so it’s a personal honor.”

In interview, Romney aligns with Christian right

Here’s a Boston Globe article that surely looks like he’s thinking toward the future and a Presidential run. Courting evangelicals is definitely something one has to do to achieve the Republican nomination. Happy Reading!

Says he’s in thick of cultural battles

By Globe Staff | March 17, 2006

In an apparent pitch to the crucial evangelical base of the Republican Party, Governor Mitt Romney says he has been ”at the forefront” of the nation’s toughest cultural battles and that his values are ”on the same page” with the Christian right.

Romney, a possible presidential candidate, says in an upcoming interview on C-SPAN that conservative values that ”lead to our success as a nation” are ”under attack.” He also says that evangelical Christians in Massachusetts have been among his key supporters.

Some political analysts have suggested that evangelical Christians will not support Romney because of theological differences with his Mormonism. Romney tried to dispel that notion during a taping of the C-SPAN program ”Q&A,” to air Sunday night.

”I know a number of great evangelicals that I speak with and that are very interested in me and what I stand for,” he told host Brian Lamb, according to a transcript of the interview released yesterday. ”We worked together in Massachusetts. They had no difficulty supporting me there.”

”And the reason is because I’m at the forefront of some of the toughest issues in the nation that relate to the culture of our land,” he said.
