Is America ready to elect a Mormon as its President?

December 18th, 2005 Posted in News Articles, The Mormon Issue

This Times of London article by Tim Reid gives a glowing review of Mr. Romney and all his accomplishments from prior to the Olympics to his current position as Governor. A very good read.

I’ve been following Mitt Romney in the news since summer. I also wonder how ready we are as a country to welcome a Mormon into the Oval Office. If we do, good for us, I say. That church could stand to lose some of the stigma it’s got in the public eye.

Looks like SOME people are prejudice. What does it matter that Mitt Romney is Mormon? If he’ll make a good president, elect him, regardless of his religion. I thought our country was supposed to believe in NOT being prejudice, looks like you are the people who would have started the Civil War.

Mitt Romneys faith can only be a positive to anyone looking at him with an open mind. Practicing Latter-Day Saints are very service oriented people who believe strongly in there faith. I hear a lot about Evangelical Christians not being willing to vote for a Mormon. I ask the question why not? Who cares if there are some doctrinal differences? The fact is both faith’s believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. To those paranoid about a Mormon theocracy, I suggest you read the Thirteen Articles Of Faith of the LDS church especially number eleven.

I support a president that has strong Christian beliefs. I think that other evangelical christians will vote for Mitt because when it comes down to it we really believe most of the same things. At the very lest we have the same values. Also I think, based on his record, that Mitt will make decisions that are best for our country.
