Governor Romney signs budget, but strips about $110 million

June 30th, 2005 Posted in Fiscal Discipline, News Articles

BOSTON –Gov. Mitt Romney signed the state’s $23.8 billion budget into law on Thursday, but vetoed about $110 million dollars in spending that he deemed ineffective or wasteful.

“Overall, the budget is fiscally responsible,” he said. “This is the third straight year that the Legislature and the administration have produced a budget that is on time and that is balanced.”

Just one of many reasons why I like this guy as our next President of the United States. Just imagine what he could do for our federal budget.
